“Nobody here can live forever, quiet in the grasp of dusk and summer”
New beginnings and saying goodbyes. What is this growing up thing?
Back in the homeland United States after two weeks in South Africa and Botswana. What an adventure!
Started cross fit training with my family for the first time. I feel sore, but great!
Being home means I can see my friends and family. I miss my Kobras.
I’ll be seeing some of the Kobras this weekend! I guess I can’t stay away from Flagstaff too long. :)
Tomorrow I’ll be celebrating 6 months with poopface Alex. Haha, we’re going to breakfast with his grandma.
I just bought my ticket to see The Rocket Summer next Saturday!
Regina’s new album comes out tomorrow. And I just found out she’s touring in LA in August, a week before I leave the country. I have to go. I can’t die before I see her in concert, and I could possibly die while I’m abroad this year. Seriously, though.
Alex made a delicious banana cream pie for my family and I to celebrate my coming home. He’s so cute.
I did laundry and hung it on the line to dry today!
Hiromi’s birthday was today. I’m sending her a birthday gift from Cape Town.
My ceramics class begins on Wednesday.
Life is reason in itself to be merry. :D
I have walked that long road to freedom. I have tried not to falter; I have made missteps along the way. But I have discovered the secret that after climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb. I have taken a moment here to rest, to steal a view of the glorious vista that surrounds me, to look back on the distance I have come. But I can only rest for a moment, for with freedome come responsibilities, and I dare not linger, for my long walk is not ended.”
- Nelson Mandela
Leaving bright and early at 4:30am! African continent, here I come!
Side note, when I googled images for South Africa and Botswana, one of the first photos was of Michelle Obama…
that I’m going to continue my graduate education in Boston, MA.
This is a two year out plan, but it’s going to happen.
“Dancing with Death” by Alex Thomas
Alex made this documentary for an EMF class. Definitely something worth watching and thinking further about. Please excuse the fact that I look like I’m extremely ill, haha.
Proud of you! :)
that generates your My Little Pony Name. Hahahahhaha this is hilarious.
My name is Caramel Croissant. Sounds good to me.
You’re more than wonderful. Always thinking of you.
¡Me pone en la felicidad completamente!
“Boston” by Augustana just came up on my Damien Rice Pandora.
Memories, holy cow.
I'm Brielle :)
I love simple things and simply love all things.
I believe there is beauty in everyone and everything, and that everyone should be allowed a fair chance at a life they believe in. I believe that everyone is somebody's baby. I believe in giving everyone the benefit of the doubt, and I believe in the unwavering power of a smile. I believe that optimism can be one's biggest asset, and that life is so much better when one loves openly and vulnerably, despite the occasional heartache. I believe in falling in love with as many worldly things as humanly possible.
I love making people laugh, acting incredibly derpy and making a fool of myself, all things Harry Potter, philosophical conversation, and napping in the grass.
Growing up thus far has been an adventure, one that I believe never ends. I'm jazzed to see where my life will lead and what's to come.
